Locale-switching Extension

There has been a lot of griping on the localization groups about the lack of locale-switching UI, but I never saw a working extension for Firefox PR (coupled with the fact that my chrome registry bug means it wouldn’t work anyway). So I whipped one up. Check it out.

your style sheet is invalid! why not try
a bit harder to meet current recommendations ???

  2. Synonymous Says:

Strange that there wasn’t one, considering that some localizations (like the Italian one) provided their own UI for doing this.

What of my stylesheet do you object to? the -moz- properties are perfectly valid extensions to CSS, even if the W3C CSS validator complains about them.

    At last!
I frankly don’t understand why Mozilla still doesn’t use GetText internally. The idea that users will download localised builds is nice but really unpractical, since the link to download Firefox just leads to an English build: no information on where to find localised builds. It makes testing multiple-languages sites difficult too, for developers.

Oh well, thanks a lot for this extension, I’m off to try it out!

    What a pity,
local-switching extension doesn’t work on FF 1.5 and scraps the profile if u make it “compatibel” with Nightly Tester Tools :(

Any chance to get an update?
