Locale Switcher version 2(.0)

I am pleased to announce the release of Locale-Switcher version 2. This has been updated for Firefox 2 (and Thunderbird 2 betas).

I have submitted the new version to addons.mozilla.org, and will hopefully appear shortly after reviews.

I’m running the german version Firefox 2 beta 2 (20060821). In switcher I can select between the german and english language (without installing an english language package). Firefox won’t restart after switching to the english language and it stops with a chrome error:

    XML Parsing Error: undefined entity
    Location: chrome://browser/content/browser.xul
    Line Number 327, Column 7:

In addition to my previous ‘Anonymous’ comment:
I installed in the past (firefox 1.5) an english language pack which
seems not be compatible with FF2 but selectable with the switcher.
I removed those files and reinstalled firefox and now FF2 works fine.

I’ve just found Locale Switcher (v2.0) and it works very fine for me!

However, I wonder why the language submenu items (i.e. the language strings) appear in reverse sort order compared to the language identification strings as to be found in the “Add-ons” (or “Extensions”) dialog. The Languages submenu seems to be generated and put out in a simple top-down method.

Wouldn’t it be even snappier to have it sorted alphabetically (in the selected locale of course ;-) ) before it is put out?

installed locale switcher 2 on ff 2.0.0.1.

    Doesn’t work
I have both the English version of FF, and the German language pack installed.

Locale Switcher: Choose German, and restart firefox. Ff remains in English. Can’t get it to switch to German.

Hi! Edited install.rdf to allow for Thunderbird 2.0.0.0. Apparently it works!
I’m using Locale Switcher 2 to switch between english and brazilian-portuguese languages.

    hello,
thank you for Locale Switcher extension.
It works well with Ff 2.0.0.3 and Windows but the seems to be inefficient with the same Ff release and Linux Mandriva one spring (No error message).
does it work well with other linux’s?
Thank you if you can help me.
